After 2 days of hard work, I managed to finish my powermanga game, yeay :) Never thought it could be that addictive..

And I’ve even managed to get an apprentice for this game during the previous FOSSCAR @ IIU last weekend (please find some photos of the event in my gallery).

Brain Tickle

I’ve registered myself to these sites for quite some time  already but never finish all the levels of any of these sites.. Today I come back to them and decided to finish the levels of at least one of them..

Some might say that it’s just tiring and is waste of time to play such games, but I think it’s very rewarding as it helps to excercise my little brain that I found very rusty already, and for that reason (without feeling guilty of time abuse) I happily play these games during office hours today, since in a way I think it’ll still help me with my day to day office work :)

I started today with hackthissite.org, and joined the Basic Web Hacking and Realistics Missions. There are few other missions, but I guess I’ll just have to wait till I finish these 2 missions first. Progress can be checked here, and the time of writing, here’s my score:

Rank: Journeyman (285 Points)

Basic: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
Realistic: 1,2,3
Application:
Encryption:
Perm. Programming:
Programming:

Here’s the links to the sites that I’ve been talking about, and if this is not enough Google can help you find more similar sites:

  • http://www.hackthissite.org/
  • http://mathschallenge.net/index.php?section=project&ref=about
  • http://www.try2hack.nl/
  • http://www.pythonchallenge.com/

p/s: Without excercises one will be getting slower while growing older. On the physical side, our 3boss (usrah linux) group members has started to /aggressively/ play pingpong since last week :)

Create panorama photo

Went for a site visit few days back and I was having problem to take a photo that really speaks a thousand words because I; 1) don’t have wide angle conversion lens to take a photo that covers the whole area, and 2) need a large enough photo that doesn’t miss out details.

The solution for my problems would probably be to get a wide angle conversion lens and mount it to a camera with 20+ megapixels. That surely is not an option for me, since I was using my personal camera for that purpose, and my current company doesn’t pay me RM20K per month that would make buying gadgets my freetime activity.

An alternative to that is to take a photo sequence, and combine it to become one. It might not be as straightforward as what one might think, and this CambridgeInColour Tutorial might help to get started.

Instead of using Gimp and go through with the calculations and manual editing, I use 2 useful programs, autopano-sift, and hugin. In Gentoo (again), I just need to emerge these 2 programs;

#emerge media-gfx/autopano-sift media-gfx/hugin

I don’t need to go through the details of how to use the software since 1) Everybody that reads my blog sure know how to read a manual, 2) Google can lead everyone here to it’s official website, which of course contains the manual, 3) I’m just lazy. Anyway, here’s my work in sequence;

// Original photos

// Stitched

//Cropped

p/s: Stitching 5 7.2 Megapixels photos makes me want to replace my Centrino 1.86 + 1 GB RAM laptop with Atomchip’s Super Notebook, with these specs:

Conspiracy theory :)

Just finished watching this very nice / detailed documentary on 9/11 on google video, and this clears up rumors regarding conspiracies behind the tragedy that I’ve heard about. The explanations from the 911 Loose Change video for me were concise, and the 1:29:50 playback time really gave me so much info to digest that at times when I missed some details, I just don’t bother to rewind since my little brain tells me that it’s buffers are full already; just drop the packets.

By using the right keywords, one can find more links than oneself can follow. My other favorite keyword when searching on the internet (or just google video) is "bush stupid", and be very surprised of what you’ll find of this /world\ leader/ . I don’t really know how does this blog entry relates to what I’ve been posting so far, but you can take this as an excercise to your torrenting / google video skill.  After all, it’s still an information insemination, as my blog title’s suggest :)

// the video don’t just show tabloid stuff. Everybody’s must watch :) Technorati Profile
