It’s my 4th day with my new company, PutraLink, and while waiting for my kernel to finish compiling, it’s good to spend the time with something useful, say writing for this blog entry
My current company deals mostly on wireless, and I love to quote this, "Hotspot? Too small. Hotzone? Think bigger".. You can find that on the company’s official website (google for it. I’m not linking it from here since i’ll lose some googel’s page rank, haha. Just kidding)
I’m now on my 4 day trip to Sabah for some wireless installation and configuration, and with a really techie CTO, I’m trying GNAP (Gentoo Network Appliance) in flight, and the kernel I’m compiling is to be used for our embedded device to be used as AP. Currently we’re based on debian, and gentoo will be replacing it as soon as I’m done with this GNAP.
/* Ok, my kernel is done compiling, but I still have an hour to go in this Air Asia’s new Airbus A320. */
The past 3 days in the office (not exactly in the office actually) has been exciting; been doing and learning new things, with wireless in particular. Went into deep of atheros wireless chipset + PC Engines WRAP Router Platform (we’re moving to new boards anyway, and I’m gonna test them as soon as I’m done with this installation stuff). Hard to spend more than 1 hours a day in the office since I was required to join the technical team to troubleshoot the AP’s at some highrise buildings at KL before I can start with my development work. Woops, I’m starting it already now here in this flight.
